Paul Jacoulet 1902-1960 |
| Description |
"Le Remplacant Mongole". A girl in Chinese costume is holding a rabbit as a substitute and lamenting her lost baby. This print shows the virtuoso printing and carving techniques, which were achieved in the early 20th century. Due to the scarcity of younger generations of professional woodblock print carvers and printers, the height of the technological achievement shown in Jacoulet's prints will never been duplicated again. |
