| Description |
A man wearing a hat is walking leisurely enjoying the fresh air. He wears casual kimono and traditional wooden sandals. The beautiful rose pinned on the collar suggests his fine taste. Bungei Kurabu and other newly established publishers published popular literary magazines which were aimed for female readers in Meiji - Taisho era. The attractive frontispiece illustrations, "kuchi-e", by the leading ukiyo-e and Nihon-ga artists facilitated the sales of the magazines. |
