Miku Ishizaki was born in Kanagawa prefecture in 1984. After she studied under Takeshi Hara and Junri Ikushima in Tokyo Zôkei University, she received the prestigious CWAJ Young Printmaker Award in 2008. In 2009, she exhibited in a group exhibition at the Annual Exhibition of the Association of Japanese Art Colleges, where she was awarded a prize. After a few solo exhibitions in Ginza galleries in 2009, her print was chosen to be shown in the annual CWAJ show in 2010.
She used the prize of her 2008 CWAJ Young Printmaker Award to study papermaking techniques and to purchase special equipments.
She creates art works expressing her highly individual interpretation of the nature by applying various degrees of pressure on the fine lines and surfaces carved in the woodblock and printing them on the irregularly shaped handmade paper.
In the latest few years she has won more prizes. Her works are now in the collections of the Machida Museum of Graphic arts, the Kanuma Municipal Art Museum of Kawakami Sumio, and in the collection of Takayama City Hall.
