Artist Hasui Kawase 1883-1957
Description From the series, "Meisho Juni Kei" (Twelve Famous Sceneries), "Himeji Castle". Hasui made 12 designs for uchiwa-e commissioned by the Japanese paper maker, Haibara in 1935. They were published as "Hasui Uchiwa-e Juni Kei".
The original blocks were discovered from the warehouse of the printer, Takahashi. This new series were made from the original blocks with the permission by the heir of Hasui.
Seal Artist's seal (hasui).
Dated 1935.
Publisher Originally Haibara, this one from Takahashi Kobo.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Very good ... Later printing in 1988 from the original block.
Colors Excellent - very good.
Condition Excellent - very good ... The print is still in the original presentation folder.
Note Carver Nagashima Michio, printer Takahashi Shinjiro.
