Japan Print Association (Nihon Hanga Kyokai) was established in 1931. Since then, it has been active in promoting the contemporary Japanese print artists through countless exhibitions and international exchange group shows.
Between 1989 and 1998, the association launched an ambitious project , "One Hundred Views of Tokyo: Message to the 21st Century", to record the changing aspects of the international megalopolis, Tokyo, in 100 prints by 100 artists.
The prints expressed yearly changes of Tokyo through the individuality and artistic sensitivity of each artists. The prints represented also the best in the diverse printing techniques of the modern printing art.

Not only the fish ensusiasts, but also the woodblock print collectors can marvel the beauty of the fish in natural environment and the highest woodblock printing skills ever achieved, which unfortunately seem to be forever lost.
