Works by leading artists from Edo era to contemporary. We featured several "Fuzoku Gaho" (Illustrated News Magazine for Customs and Manners). A popular magazine in Meiji period for the light subjects, opinions, useful information for everyday life, etc. It was published twice monthly and included some interesting lithographs showing the Major Events of the time.

California, the land of opportunity. It attracted thousands of immigrants from different countries, especially from the countries in the Far East such as China and Japan. For them, the land of opportunity was distant only by the length of the Pacific Ocean. Many years have been passed. Today, California is flourished with multitude of different cultures, technology and life styles. But the close tie with Japan is still very much intact and recognisable.
This collection came from one such person who enjoys and appreciates the rich cultural heritage of Japan. Here, he shares with us a part of his excellent collection.
