Japanese prints from the Estate of Robert O.Muller, the famous collector and dealer who passed away in 2003. During his life he had amassed one of the largest and best collections of shin hanga and other prints that the world has ever seen.
After the death of Robert O. Muller the core of the collection of more than 4,500 prints, paintings and a large archive of documents had been bequeathed by Muller's heirs to a museum - the renowned Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of the Smithsonian Institute. The rest of the collection was meant for commercial use and has since then been offered among others by artelino in several auction specials. It is now foreseeable that the stock of the collection meant for commercial use is by and by coming to an end.
Please pay special attention to the prints that we assigned to unknown although they look like for instance made by Shotei. They are unsigned and they might be from the rare and famous piracy print designs known from the Muller collection. These are beautiful and very well made curiosity prints in high demand by collectors.
