Zhao Tianqi looks a bit like her print images - smart, non-conformist, young, whimsical and a bit sassy. And she has the same enchanting charm that her print works have.

Some time ago, she was an insiders's tip among foreign diplomats in Beijing. Her prints are in the possession of the Dutch, Swiss and the German embassies in the capital Beijing.
The latest series Made in China, created in 2004, is a milestone in the career of this refreshing, young artist.
Zhao Tianqi was born in 1968 in the city of Harbin (Ha-Er-Bing) in China. In 1992, she graduated from the Printmaking Department of Chinese Central Fine Art Academy in Beijing. Presently she lives as a professional painter and printmaker in the Chinese capital. She is married to Liu Chunhai, a successful artist and printmaker himself.
Zhao Tianqi had a series of solo exhibitions in Beijing.
She also took part in a number of group expositions.
Zhao Tianqi's printworks were acquired by a few Western embassies, the Dutch, French and Swiss embassies in China. Private collectors outside mainland China are from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Spain, Canada, USA, Denmark, UK, France, Australia, Sweden, Finland and Germany.
At different occasions, the press wrote about the young artist.
The artist works in silkscreen technique.
Some of her abstract prints are so-called single prints. With this technique, the complete design is applied on a stone or glass plate using either watery or oil colors. Then a paper is laid over the design and pressed firmly against the plate. And that is it. Thus only one copy of a design can be created.
