Zhang Yongqing is one of the modern artists who could establish himself under a more tolerant and liberal Chinese administration. Major focus of the artist is the depiction of Chinese landscapes and humans, animals and plants resisting under extreme conditions.
The artist Zhang Yongqing works both as an artist and as a geographer. No wonder that his artwork depicts splendid Chinese landscapes - rivers, mountains and deserts. His landscapes look so alienated and yet they are real - depictions from remote areas of China like the Pamir Mountains in the East with the highest and largest areas of glaciers next to the Antarctica.
Sometimes the artist puts a lonely traveler on a camel into his landscapes. Thus he creates moods of solitude, mystery and respect for the greatness of nature. Zhang Yongqing's colors are from strong to sublime.
The artist uses a mixed media technique of etching, lithograph and serigraph.
Limited editions of 100 to 300 copies - signed, dated and numbered by the artist in pencil.
