Traditional Japanese art is unthinkable without a high degree of craftsmanship whereas Western arts, especially in the twentieth century, emphasized creativity. Paul Binnie has both, a superb craftsmanship and great creativity.

  • 1990 - MA in Fine Art (hons.), a joint degree in History of Art at Edinburgh University and Painting, Drawing and Printmaking at Edinburgh College of Art
  • 1993-1994 - Apprenticeship in woodblock printmaking with Seki, Kenji, master printmaker, Japan
