"People shall feel free and happy with my prints." (Zhu Liwen, August 2009)

Ms. Zhu Liwen, born in 1983 is a young but nevertheless smart and wise young lady, full of sensitivity towards life and our world, as if she had the experience of a long life. Astonishing. Her art works are affectionate, warm. Intellectual but not cold. They touch our hearts and our minds at the same time.

Object That Speaks

Here is what Zhu Liwen has to say about her new series Object That Speaks.

"The series Object That Speaks is my new theme creation after the Life Condition series. In 2008, I began to draw and prepare the series. The artworks want to give us different spaces decorated with beautiful things. I hope that people can feel free and happy with my prints. And even if they should have only one minute to look at my prints, they should feel the relax and happiness. If I should have achieved this, it is fine for me."
"In this series, I used the traditional Chinese cloth designs as a background that makes the blossom, the mirror and high-heel shoe look warm and sweet. I opened a girls' space with girls' objects. They look like they have a message for you."

Ms. Zhu Liwen was born in 1983 in Deqing city of Zhejiang province. In 2007 she graduated from the renowned CNAFA (Chinese National Academy of Fine Arts).

In 2007 one or several prints from her series Life Situation attended several exhibitions, among them the important Guanlan International Print Biennial of 2007 in Shenzhen city.

Tips for Collectors

Zhu Liwen is what the art scene calls an emerging artist. With her admission to the Guanlan International Print Biennial she came into the spotlight of the Chinese art scene. She will make her way. Her art works are simply too good and interesting to be ignored. And she is not someone who just adopts styles that are currently trendy and fashionable. Miss Zhu Liwen has her own style and her art works have a message. Her prints are well made and still have very small editions of usually less than 10 copies (yes - ten copies). The use of the reduction woodblock technique assures that later impressions beyond the original edition size are impossible.
