Zhu Jianxiang is a painter and printmaker from Hubei province. Currently he is director of the printmaking studio of XiaoGan Art Institute where he works together with his wife Cao Fang. Zhu Jianxiang and his wife have a wide exhibition record including a show in Japan. Both have been represented at the National Art and National Print exhibitions of China.

Education

Mr.Zhu Jianxiang was born in Hunan province in 1975. In 1998 he finished his art studies at Central China Normal University, Fine Art department. Now he is a member of Artists' Association of Hubei province and director of printmaking studio of XiaoGan Art Institute. Zhu Jianxiang is married to Mrs. Cao Fang who had studied at the same university of Zhu Jianxiang. Currently they work both at the printmaking studio of XiaoGan Art Institute.

  • 1999 - Zhu's etching "Father" won the outstanding prize of the Universities' Fine Art Exhibition of Hubei province. Mrs. Cao Fang's etching "Song" also won the outstanding prize in this exhibition.
  • 2000 - Zhu Jianxiang's etching "Wind Blows" won the outstanding prize of the Teachers' Fine Art Exhibition of Hubei province. Cao's etching "Trip" was also selected to be shown in this exhibtion
  • 2001-2002 - The oil painting "Group Photo No.1", a common work by Zhu Jianxiang and his wife Cao Fang, Zhu's "Landscape on Top of Mountains" and Cao's "Old Man of Shanbei" were selected for Hubei Art Exhibition.
  • 2003 - Zhu's "Cross Section No.2" won the silver prize of the Universities' Fine Art Exhibition of Hubei province.
  • 2004 - The common print work by Zhu and Cao "Cross Section No.4" won the outstanding prize of the 10th National Art Exhibtion, and was collected by the Chinese Art Gallery.
  • 2005 - Zhu's print "Cross Section No.5" won the silver prize of the Universities' Fine Art Exhibition of Hubei province.
  • 2005 - "Cross Section No.4" attended the Beijing Chinese Young Artists Art Show organized by China Artists Association.
  • 2005 - Zhu's print "Cross Section No.5" was shown at the 17th National Print Exhibition, and was collected by Guiyang Art Museum.
  • 2005/2006 - "Cross Section No.4" attended the Itinerant Exhibition in Japan named Contemporary Chinese Art Exhibition, organized by China Artists Association.

  • The Print "Cross Section no.4" was published in the book of The 10th National Art Exhibition - Prints Collection by People's Art Publishing House, 2004, ISBN 7-102-03127-0. This print was also published in the book of Beijing Chinese Young Artists Art Show by People's Art Publishing House in 2005, ISBN 7-102-03460-1.
  • The print "Cross Section no.5" was published in the book of The 17th National Print Exhibition in 2005, page 165, ISBN 7-221-07186-1.
