In July of 2007 we received a mesmerizing painting by Chinese artist Zhou Changquan. The painting shows a beautiful Chinese lady from the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
Zhou Changquan was born in 1966 in Gai city of Liaoning province. After his graduation from Lu Xun Art Institute he worked for "Silk Road Company" as an art designer. He has attended many provincial and national art exhibitions and won some prizes. In 1995, Zhou Changquan established his own gallery, "Changqing Gallery" for professional art creation. He is a member of the China Artists Association.
The painting shows a Chinese lady in a lush robe from the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The painting is an elaborate work created with small painting brushes on a thin paper. Technique and style are a synthesis of old Chinese painting tradition and modern Western elements.
