Mr. Zhou Bin was originally active in traditional Chinese painting. But when he saw a woodblock print by famous artist Luo Guirong, he decided to become a printmaker himself. That was in 2000 when he was 43 years old. Since then Zhou Bin has worked hard and has made a fast career.

We at artelino have so far received only one print by Zhou Bin - a woodblock print titled "Warm Wind". The very same print was shown at the 18th National Printmaking Exhibition in Shanghai from September 27 until October 6. This exhibition takes place every one to two years in different provinces of China and is the most prestigious exhibition for Chinese printmakers.

Late Career in Printmaking

Mr. Zhou Bin was born in 1957 in Yinchuan city of Ningxia Autonomous region. He learned fine art at Fine Art Department of Ningxia University.

Zhou Bin began his printmaking creations rather late - in 2000. Until then, he was a professional artist in Chinese traditional painting. But when he saw Mr. Luo Guirong's prints, he was so fascinated that he decided to learn printmaking from this great master. With his efforts and Mr. Luo Guirong's help, he became an important person in Chinese printmaking circles. Soon he won several provincial and national prizes.

• 2000 - The art print "Love of Hometown No.1" won the golden prize of the 3rd Art Exhibition of Five Autonomous Regions, and attended the 15th National Print Exhibition of China.
• 2001 - The art print "Love of Hometown No.1" attended the 15th New Artists New Artworks Exhibition.
• 2001 - The art "Tides of July" attended the 5th National Physical Art Exhibition.
• 2002 - The art "Whirling Sound of the Wind" attended the 16th National Print Exhibition.
• 2004 - The art print "Home" attended the 10th National Art Exhibition.
• 2005 - The art print "Environment No.1" won the outstanding prize of the 17th National Print Exhibition.
• 2007 - The art print "Warm Wind" attended the 18th National Print Exhibition in Shanghai.
