This exhibition showed Mr. Zhang Guilin's silkscreen artworks created by the artist over a period of 25 years. His art experience relates closely to Chinese contempory silkscreen. In this field Mr. Zhang Guilin plays a leading role in today's art market of contemporary Chinese art.
Mr. Zhang Guilin was born in 1951 in Beijing. In 1974 he began his studies of printmaking techniques at CNAFA (Chinese National Academy of Fine Arts) which represents the highest level of printmaking in China.
Because of his outstanding art talent, he became teacher in this academy after his graduation. In 1980 Mr. Zhang established the first silkscreen studio in China. From 1990 until 1991 he studied in Europe at the Madrid Art School. During his studies in Madrid he received the possibility for wide travels in Europe on invitation of the Madrid Art School.

"Zhang Guilin's Artworks", published by People's Art Publish House, ISBN 7-90020-88-8.
Zhang Guilin's gallery price for his silkscreen prints is about 750USD and above. And for 5 designs ("Great Storm", "Life no.9", "Role no.5", "Paper Ball on the Step" and "Paper Bird in the Beijing Lane" the artist has only 1-2 copies left.
Here we introduce two series of Mr. Zhang Guilin's silkscreen works:
For Mr. Zhang Guilin life originates in the sea. The artist wants to show us something mysterious and original by showing us different shapes of fish.
Fish and Water, they divide the space of the prints. Respectively they shape a mutual relationship with each other. The unnatural mysterious tone leads to an unnatural-oriented viewing style.
The city of Beijing and other Chinese cities are undergoing a huge construction boom. The faces of the old cities are changing. The old lanes with memories from our childhood of paper birds and paper balls are disappearing fast.
