Mesmerizing pictures of flowers and nature in wonderful color combinations. And very Chinese at the same time. That's the 'handwriting' of female artist Yang Wengping. She is originally from Yunnan, a province with an abundance of ethnic culture and beautiful nature. The influence of her homeland on her art creations is obvious.

From Yunnan Province

Ms. Yang Wengping was born in Mile County, Yunnan Province. She graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Yunnan Art Institute in 1991 with a bachelor degree. Now she lives and works in Beijing and Yunnan.

Yang Wengping is known as an active feminism artist in China's contemporary art circle. Since the middle of the 1990s she has participated in many important contemporary group art exhibitions. In 2008 she had a solo exhibition at Beijing, 798 Art District.

Her flower, plant and baby paintings are thought to express consciousness of life under the female perspective. In recent years, her paintings have become more and more popular in China and also collectors from abroad have started to purchase her art works.
