In July 2007 we received from our Chinese agent a number of inexpensive but stunning art prints created by young talented artists who recently graduated from a Chinese art academy. One of these emerging young "baby boomer" artists is Wu Jian.
The images on this page are link-sensitive and take you to other articles or web sites in which you might be interested.
Wu Jian was born in 1985 in Weifang city of Shandong province. He graduated from Printmaking Department of Fine Art Academy, Hunan Science and Technology University in 2007.
The woodblock print that we received by Wu Jian shows two Tibetan boys playing the old "Hide and Seek" play. The play is known and played by children all over the world. It is a thoroughly international play.
The dimensions of the woodblock are large with an image size of 23.0 inches = 58.5 cm by 31.5 inches = 80.0 cm. Wu Jian used thick oil-based colors. The edition size is only 6 copies.
Art prints by Wu Jian are in my view a "hot" recommendation for collectors. They are beautiful, well-done and cheap. And they may be a good investment in art. Mr. Wu Jian will make his way in China's art scene, I am pretty convinced.
