The paintings by young female artist Wang Jing are poetic and dreamy. And sometimes a touch of the surreal world pops up in her more recent works. And with these tender colors often floating into each other the images look romantic, but also a bit fragile. But her style is still changing, not abruptly but slowly and in a direction that seems to make sense for the viewer.

Education

Ms. Wang Jing was born in Chongqing city in 1982. In 2005, she started her art studies at Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. In early 2012 she has been a graduate student of Sichuan Academy.

Exhibitions

Ms. Wang Jing's exhibition history goes back to 2006.

• 2005 - The painting series 'Full of Fragrance' was shown in an exhibition titled 'Seven Discoveries' in Beijing.
• 2006 - The 'Portrait' series was shown in the exhibition 'In Hurry' in Tank Loft Chongqing Contemporary Art Center.
• 2007 - The 'Wants to Speak' series was shown at Chongqing Art Museum.
• 2008 - The 'Full of Fragrance' series was shown at Today's Art Museum in Beijing. This series was also shown in the group exhibition 'Sichuan New Generation Artists Show' in Hangzhou Boyi Art Museum, and also in the 'International 10 Artists' group exhibition in Shanghai at 'Galerie Artenoo'.
• 2009 - The 'Full of Fragrance' series was shown at the 'Our 2009 Huang Jue Ping' annual exhibition at 501 Contemporary Art Museum, at 'Contemporary Art Show of New Emerging Artists from the West of China' at 102 Contemporary Art Museum and at the 'Art Nomination Exhibition'.
• 2010 - The painting series 'Pilotless' was shown at the 'Emerging Artists Nomination Exhibition' at 501 Contemporary Art Museum.
• 2010 - Ms. Wang Jing attended the 'Red Exhibition' of Chongqing female artists at Chongqing Art Museum, and the 'Reflection' female artists exhibition at 108 Art Space of Chongqing.

Her artworks were published in the 'Fine Arts World', 'Chinese Famous Artists' and 'Art Online' by www.zhuokearts.com.

Collections

The painting 'Wants to Speak No.8' was collected by Chongqing Art Museum.

Artist's Statement

"Painting for me means images that can record my spiritual journey. It is my familiar expression in life. And it can also be the carrier for all my depressions and anxieties."

"In these modern times when kitsch becomes fashionable I am hoping to keep my independent personality. I want to pay more attention to true interior feelings and devote myself to the creation of new and elegant visions."

"I think that the obstacles of contemporary art are not in technical but in conceptual and spiritual aspects."
