Educational SitesUkiyo-e - Pictures of the Floating World Hans Olof Johansson's homepage is on the Internet since 1995. A pioneer and probably still the most popular site about ukiyo-e. It offers a gallery, a lively question and answer message board, ukiyo-e signatures and a large collection of links. The link list is unique and there is hardly an ukiyo-e related web site that is not listed by Olof. A site by John Fiorillo from Berkely University. It offers a plethora of information on scholarship level. You find biographies of classical Edo, Shin hanga and Sosaku hanga artists plus articles on selected topics of interest. Each article is supplemented by literature references. This is the entry point for several web sites belonging to printmaker David Bull. David lives in Tokyo and works in the style of traditional Japanese printmaking. His web sites are a source of first-hand information on Japanese printmaking. In the Baren Forum, an international community of printmakers, you can exchange views on printmaking issues. Jim Breen from Monash University in Australia is another Internet pioneer. His gallery is an "Oldie but Goodie". It is just one project of Jim Breen's Japanese Page. This web site is devoted to the needs and interests of serious shin hanga collectors. The scholarly contents of this web site is contributed and maintained by the members of this association with the name "The Shin Hanga Skull & Bones Society". A lot of pages are public, some are reserved for members. Message BoardsThese are the virtual meeting places of ukiyo-e fans from all over the world where you can exchange views or ask questions. Ukiyo-e Auctions
