When I saw the first photos of paintings by this young Chinese female artist I was mesmerized. Sounds crazy, but I was immediately reminded of my visits to the world-famous Uffici in Florence. Raphael, Boticelli, Italian Renaissance - angels with long curly hair floating in the air. And although her painting techniques are of course different from a Boticelli or Raphael, it's the same atmosphere that surrounds Ms. Sun Jianfang's paintings.

Biography of Ms. Sun Jingfang

Mrs. Sun Jingfang was born in 1981 in Tianmen city of Hubei province. In 2003, she graduated from the oil painting department of Hubei Fine Arts Academy. After her graduation she continued her studies at this academy. In 2006, she received the master degree of 'Technique and Material of Oil Painting'.

After her master degree she went to Hangzhou, and is now lecturer at the Fine Arts Institute of Zhejiang Industry University.

Exhibitions

In 2006, Ms. Sun Jingfang attended the 'Six Artists Exhibition' in Guanzhong Gallery of Shanghai.

In 2007, her oil painting 'Flying Flowers in Dream' was exhibited at the fine arts exhibition titled 'Today's China' at the National Art Museum of China.

Publications

The artwork 'Spring Flower and Autumn Moon', an oil painting on canvas 120 by 90cm, was published in 'Arts Panorama' in July, 2008, edition no.247.

And her artwork 'Breeze Plays the Shadow of Lotus Leaves', altogether 4 oil paintings on canvas, size: 100x (4) by 135cm, was published in 'Fine Arts Newspaper' in 2010, edition number: CN33-0071.

Public Collections

In 2003, Sun Jingfang's oil painting on board 'Natural Imagination I' was collected by Hubei Fine Arts Academy.
