In 2003 the College Women's Association of Japan hosted an
Associate Show during their annual print exhibition at the Toyko American
Club. This Associate Show presented three famous printmakers and
long-term participants of the CWAJ exhibitions, namely Azechi Umetaro,
Watanabe Sadao and Mori Yoshitoshi.

1898 - Born in Tokyo.

1923 - Graduated from Kawabata School of Fine Arts.

1948 - Began to make stencil prints on paper.

1949-1962 - Annual participant in Kokugakai Exhibition

1957 - The 1st Tokyo International Biennial Print Exhibition.

1957-1990 - International group exhibitions, USA, Belgium, France,
Spain, Mexico, Australia, Italy and Germany.

1966 - Traveling exhibition, USA, sponsored by The Japan Society.

1969 - Japan Art Festival, Mexico, Brazil, USA, International
Graphics Exhibition (prize), Barcelona, Spain.

1975 - Solo Exhibition, Wako Department Store, Tokyo. Fist of
eight exhibitions (until 1992).

1976 - Imperial Silver Medal with Blue Ribbon.

1984 - Honorary Ph.D., University of Maryland.

1990 - Honorary Citizen of Chuo Ward, Tokyo.

1991 - Named Distinguished Citizen of Tokyo.

1992 - Died May 29 in Tokyo at age 93.
