Miyashita Tokio was born in 1930 in Tokyo. The artist is a member of Japan Print Association.
Tokio Miyashita had graduated in literature. But his vivid interest in fine arts finally made him an artist. He learned woodblock printmaking by two great masters, Unichi Hiratsuka and Sekino Junichiro.
Tokio Miyashita had tried other techniques like metal plates and mixed media techniques. But in the end the traditional woodblock print remained his favorite media.
Miyashita Tokio's subjects make a slight surrealist impression on the viewer. Typical for the artist is the use of 'windows'.
