Edutainment > Maeda Koichi - born 1936

We know Maeda Koichi's beautiful woodblock prints of Japanese landscapes and villages from the annual CWAJ exhibition catalogs and from many web sites in the Internet. But so far we have received only few of his prints as consignments for our art auctions. A pity, and we hope this will change soon and we will soon be able to show you more woodblock prints by Maeda Koichi on this web site.

First Publication: August 2009
Latest Update: April 2013

Japanese Woodblock Prints by Maeda Koichi.

Maeda Koichi works in the technique of the traditional Japanese woodblock prints. Favorite subjects are landscapes and rural village scenes. The artist is especially good in his color combinations, in working out fine details and in balancing composition and color.

Maeda Koichi does not invent new subjects but follows typical standard themes. His merits lie in the way HOW he depicts these views of rural villages, old houses, quiet lanes or the view of Mount Fuji. These prints are full of beauty, serenity and calmness. Maeda Koichi's woodblock prints touch our hearts and innerst feelings.

Typical edition sizes for the artist are 80 copies.
