Ms. Liu Suying works in the technique of woodblock printing. She uses the method of water-soluble inks. This is the "very Chinese, Chinese" method of making a woodblock print. But the method is not quite easy and requires long training.

The paper used is a very pliable Chinese paper, ideal for soaking up the water-soluble inks. And it has another advantage. The prints can be rolled and shipped in tubes without risking any damages. The editions vary from 10 to 100 copies. They are signed, dated, titled and numbered.

Suzhou Art School

Art prints by Liu Suying are typical for the Suzhou Art School. Their subjects are taken from the beautiful city of Suzhou - canals, pagodas and views from the world-famous Suzhou Gardens.
