The booklet features paintings by Li Ping, born 1963, a renowned Chinese painter. The booklet is written in Chinese.

  • 1994 - The painting "Red Land, Stone, Ox Cart" was selected for the First National Chinese Painting Exhibition of Young Artists.
  • 1995 - The painting "Red Land, Auspiciousness" obtained the outstanding prize of the National Peony Painting Exhibition.
  • 1996 - The painting "Red Land, Clean Earth" obtained the third prize of the National Buddhism Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition.
  • 1997 - The painting "Red Land, Rhythm of Autumn" was selected for the Chinese Contemporary Meticulous Painting Exhibition.
  • 1998 - The painting "Red Land, Go Home" was selected in the 98' Chinese National Mountain and River Painting Exhibition.
  • 1999 - The painting "Red Land" was selected for the 9th Chinese National Fine Arts Exhibition.
  • 2000 - The painting "Red Land, Cultivation" was selected for the 2000 National Chinese Traditional Painting Exhibition.
  • 2001 - The painting "Red Land, Clear Water Pool" obtained the outstanding prize of the New Era Chinese National Painting Exhibition.
  • 2002 - The painting "Red Land, Braving Frost" was selected for the 15th Chinese National New Artists and New Works Exhibition.
  • 2003 - The painting "Red Land, Reclaim Wasteland" obtained the outstanding prize of the Second Chinese National Meticulous Painting Exhibition.
  • 2003 - The painting "Red Land, Autumn" was selected for the Second Chinese National Traditional Painting Exhibition.
  • 2003 - The painting "Red Land, Home in the Stone Forest" obtained the silver prize of the 2003 Chinese National Fine Arts Artist Nomination Exhibition.
  • 2003 - The painting "Red Land, Homeland" obtained the outstanding prize of the 2003 Chinese National Traditional Painting Exhibition.
  • 2004 - The painting "Red Land, Autumn Wind" obtained the copper prize of the First Selected Painting Exhibition of the Members of Chinese Artists Association.
  • 2004 - The painting "Red Land, the Village of Sani People" was selected for the 10th Chinese National Fine Arts Exhibition.
  • 2004 - The painting "Red Land, The Yu People in the Huge Mountains" obtained the silver prize of the Second Chinese National Minority Nationality Fine Arts Exhibition.
  • 2004 - The painting "Red Land, Small Village" obtained the copper prize of the Second Lichang Cup Chinese National Youth Fine Arts Exhibition.
  • 2005 - The painting "Red Land, Soft Breeze" obtained the outstanding prize of the Second Caixiang Qing Chinese National Painting Exhibition.
  • 2005 - The painting "Red Land, Herding in Autumn" obtained the outstanding prize of the Second Selected Painting Exhibition of the Members of Chinese Artists Association.
  • 2006 - The painting "Red Land, Returning from Herding" obtained the silver prize of The Third Affection of the Western Huge Land National Chinese Traditional Painting and Oil Painting Exhibition.

Li Ping uses the Chinese traditional medium of brush and ink technique combined with western applied color. The paintings are mMounted on a backing paper. Decorative borders are added in traditional Chinese manner.

Mr. Li Ping was born in 1963 in Luxi county in Yunnan province. In 1990 he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Yunnan Art College. He is a member of Chinese Artists Association. Currently (2007), he works as a professional artist at Yunnan Fine Arts Academy in Yunnan province, China.

His paintings have been shown in many important nation-wide exhibitions. He has received more than ten awards in the categories of excellent and outstanding achievements, and copper and silver prizes.

The artist's works were published in more than 30 academic magazines and papers such as "Fine Arts", "Chinese Painter", "Chinese Painting and Calligraphy", "Observation of Fine Arts" and "Literature Paper".

Outside China Li Ping had exhibitions in more than ten countries such as Canada, the United States of America, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore.

In May 2007 we received 5 paintings by Li Ping. All but one were immediately purchased by a private collector before we could even offer them in an auction.

Yunnan, on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in the Southwest of China lies right below the Tibetan Plateau. Its neighbors are Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar. Yunnan is a mysterious land of great natural beauty. It covers an area of 394,000 square kilometers and has a population of 40 million.

Yunnan is an area of many different national cultures. It is the homeland for 26 ethnic minority groups like the Dai or Yi people.
