Most prints of the artist Ji Shicheng are abstract and figurative at the same time. They are mysterious and some times surreal. Like a scene out of a legend or a fary tale. Ji Shicheng works with a limited spectrum of colors to underline the atmosphere of the scenery.

About Ji Shicheng

Mr. Ji Shicheng was born in 1957 in Changchun in Jilin province in China. Currently he is a member of the Chinese Artists Association and the Chinese Printmakers Association. In Jilin city he is the director of the Prints Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association.

The prints of Ji Shicheng have been shown in several Chinese exhibitions and have been awarded with several prizes.

  • 1986 - The print "Returning of Life" won the highest prize in the 9th National Print Exhibition.
  • 1989 - The print "The Smoke Field" was selected for the 7th National Art Exhibition.
  • 1990 - The artwork "The Sunflower" was selected for the 10th National Print Exhibition.
  • 1992 - "Yellow in Mid-Autumn - August" was shown in the 11th National Print Exhibition.
  • 1994 - "The Impression of Yanbian" was selected for the 12th National Print Exhibition.
  • 1994 - "Yellow in Mid-Autumn - August" was selected for the 8th National Art Exhibition.
  • 1996 - "Black Cloud - Autumn Labor" won the silver prize of the 13th National Print Exhibition.
  • 1998 - "Deep Autumn - Dream" was shown at the 14th National Print Exhibition and won the Copper prize of the 13th National Print Exhibition.
  • 1999 - "Rest at Sunset" was selected into the 9th National Art Exhibition.
  • 2000 - "Three Walking Men" was shown in the 15th National Print Exhibition.
  • 2000 - The print "Rest at Sunset" was selected for the International Art Exhibition in Beijing and 2002 for the 5th International Print Exhibition in Kochi in Japan.
  • 2005 - "Galloping in Black" was shown in the 17th National Print Exhibition in Guizhou in China.
  • 2004 - The artwork "Going with Me" was in the 10th National Art Exhibition.
  • 2007 - The print "Colourful Dream" was shown in the 18th National Print Exhibition in Shanghai and 2007 in the Biennual International Prints Exhibition in Shenzhen in China.
