Mr. Hiroto Norikane was born in 1949 in Hiroshima prefecture. He graduated from Sokei Academy of Fine Arts, and had studied under Yoshida Hodaka and Kato Kiyomi. The artist works in a mixed media technique of etching and mezzotint. The motifs chosen for his art prints are taken from rural Japan and from the Japanese tradition.

Hiroto Norikane works in etching and aquatint techniques and uses for most of his detailed rendered prints mixed media techniques. Typical are the subdued colors. Often the artist's prints are kept in black and white or in shades of brown or otherwise just one or two basic colors.
Another favorite subject of the artist are cat prints.
