The great turmoils of the Cultural Revolution in China took place roughly from 1966 until 1976. Born 1963, the artist grew up in a political and social climate that could have hardly been more different from today's China. And like nearly all artists of this generation also the artworks of Du Baoyin deal with these memories.

Mr. Du Baoyin is a famous artist in today's China and vice professor at Fine Arts Institute of Zhejiang Industry University.

In 2007 he established his studio in the famous art village of Songzhuang, near Beijing. In 2011 he moved his art studio to the art studio of Shangyuan, Beijing. In 2012 he works at a studio in Xiaoheshan in the beautiful city of Hangzhou.

Exhibitions

• 1988 - Oil Painting Exhibition by artists in the Fine Art Institute of Harbin Normal College, China.
• 1988 - Small Size Oil Painting Exhibition in France, organized by China's Foreign Trade Fair.
• 1989 - The painting 'Night Market' won the Copper prize in the Oil Painting Exhibition of 3 Provinces in the Northeast of China.
• 2001 - The painting 'Landscape with Boats' won the Copper prize in the Oil Painting Exhibition of Heilongjiang province for celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Chinese communist party.
• 2005 - The same painting attended the 'Qianjiang River Tide - Oil Painting Exhibition' in Zhejiang province.
• 2006 - Three paintings attended the Oil Painting Invitational Exhibition of Lecturers from Zhejiang Universities.
• 2006 - Kaiyuan Oilpainting Auction.
• 2007 - The oil painting 'Memory of Childhood' attended the Chinese Poly Auction and was hammered for a price of 38,000 RMB.
• 2008 - The oil painting 'The Lost Rose' attended the 'Chinese Young Artists Nomination Exhibition' organized by the Chinese Culture Department.
• 2008 - The oil painting 'White Handkerchief' attended the opening ceremony of OAK gallery in Beijing.
• 2008 - Nine oil paintings attended the Group Exhibition of New Generation of Artists from the north of China in 798 Art district, Beijing China.
• 2008 - Two paintings from the 'Memory of Childhood' series were selected by Professor Su Dan of Fine Arts Institute of Qinghua University.
• 2011 - Solo Exhibition 'The Obsessions of Young Baoyin' in Four Sides Space Gallery in 798 Art District, Beijing.
