Why Does my Print not Show up in the Archive?
We receive on a regular basis friendly, worried and sometimes angry
complaints of the kind "My print does not show up in the archive!".
Read this and you will understand why (not yet):
-
The archived items are stored in a different physical database table.
-
The transfer from the current items table to the archive is done
roughly once per week.
-
For technical reasons we do not archive an item if it has not yet been processed
completely
- sold, paid by client, settled with the consignor and shipped to the buyer.
Therefore your auction wins will not show up as long as you keep them
with us (
consolidated shipping / HOLD option).
-
Items do not show up if the buyer does not want it. It is an option
that you can set for your
account. Resellers use this option
for understandable reasons.
-
Japanese prints do not show up if a consignor requests us to "hide" them.
This is a remnant from the establishment of artelino
in 2001 when an ukiyo-e dealer with a lot of
clout has tried to set up a dealer consignment boycott of
artelino and has threatened dealers worldwide with
sanctions if they should dare to deal with us.
Fortunately by now this has turned more
into a matter of huge laughters. But there are still a few small dealers who
ask us to make their consignments invisible - thus avoiding the possibility of
"reverse tracing" and the wrath of "big wig".
