Zenjiro Kikuchi was born in Shiga prefecture. He made mostly woodblock prints in black and white depicting scenes from the working class.

Zeshin Shibata was born in Edo (old name for Tokyo) as the son of a sculptor. Originally he started as an apprentice for the lacquer craftsmanship. Later he studied painting. In 1890 he became a court painter. His origins as a lacquerer are reflected in his prints by a frequent use of urushi, the Japanese lacquer. Zeshin was a celebrated artist and craftsman during his lifetime and was appointed to represent Japan at the World Exhibition in Paris and other International exhibitions in Philadelphia and Vienna.

Zhang Baibo was born in Chingdao in China. Apart from woodblock prints, he uses an innovative technique where he carves an engraving on plates of plaster. It creates a relief effect. He perticipated "100 Views of Eternal China" project. Zhang Baibo has exhibited widely in China and abroad among others in the United States, Australia, Japan (1982: Kanagawa Prefecture Art Museum), Canada, France, Germany and India. His pastel colors and the tenderful designs with relief effect appeal much to Western art lovers.

Mr.Zhang Biao was born in 1971 in Nanyang city of Henan province. He began his art studies in Nanyang technical secondary school, at the Fine Art department in 1986. In 1990, he began to learn printmaking at the printmaking department of Tianjin Fine Art Academy. In 1996, he graduated with the bachelor degree. In 2003, after several years of teaching in Nanyang city, he returned to Tianjin Fine Art Academy and became a postgraduate. He received the master degree and now he works as a teacher of this academy.

Zhang Gufeng finished his art studies at the prints department of Zhejiang Fine Art Academy. Zhang comes from an old family of artists. His father, Zhang Yangxi was the director of the print department, and also a famous printmaker. Also his son Zhang Gufeng specialized on engravings and watermark woodblocks, a Chinese technique that mixes woodcut and watercolors.

Zhang Hongxun began his art studies in the Fine Art Department of the Central National Academy and graduated in 1987. Presently he is director of photography of Nongkeng Newspaper, in Heilongjiang province. The artist won the golden prize of the 13th and 14th national prints exposition of China. Birds and leaves are Zhang Hongxun's favourites. He draws them in fresh colours and with a lot of imagination.

Zhang Ji is currently (2007) an employed artist of Qujing Printmaking Institute. He was born in Huize of Yunnan Province in 1969. In 1991 he graduated from Yuxi Teacher's College and in 1999 from the Fine Arts Department of Yunnan Arts University.
In 2000 he finished his course of MFA (Master of Fine Arts) at Nanjing Arts University. Zhang Ji now works as a teacher of Qujing Teacher's College. He is a member of Yunnan Artists Association.
