Pablo Palazuelo was born in Madrid, Spain. He first studied architecture in Oxford, England. But returned to Spain and moved to Paris to dedicate himself to the arts. Pablo Palazuelo is regarded as one of the most important Spanish artists of the 20th century. His artworks are in all major Spanish museums.

Pan Xiaoling is a female painter, and one of the best known of the Huxian farmers community. She is exceptional both as an artist, but also in her drive to promote and sell her art. She was the first in the village to install a telephone, the first to publish an album with her paintings in 1993, and the first to buy a computer to sell her paintings via the internet. Xiaoling's art paintings have been shown widely in and outside of China.

Paul Binnie, born 1967 in Scotland, had spent more than 5 years in Tokyo where he created among other works a series of kabuki actor prints. Today he is one of the most sought-after "Japanese" woodblock artists. The young artist lives in London with frequent visits to Japan and the U.S.A. His technical mastership in the medium of the woodblock is superb. And in spite of his international success, he has remained a likeable young man without any airs and graces.

Paul Jacoulet was a native French born in Paris. In 1906 he came to Japan with his parents where he quickly adopted the Japanese culture. He made several trips to the South Sea. Subjects with portraits of islanders from the South Sea make a great part of his works. During World War II he remained in Japan but moved from Tokyo to Karuizawa. His works are an interesting synthesis of a French artist and a Japanese woodblock printmaker.
