Cheng Ligen was born in Songxi County. She received a degree in art from Nanping Teachers College and also studied oil painting at Jimei University in Xiamen, Fujian. Now she works as an art teacher in Songxi Vocational Technical School and is a part-time artist at Songxi Printmaking Institute. Her prints have been selected for provincial and municipal art exhibitions and published in Fujian Culture, Minbei Daily and other publications, some of which were acquired by the Albury Regional Art Gallery in Australia.

Cheng Minsheng, was born in a small village in Huxian county in Shanxi province in 1943. He is a member of both Shanxi Artist Association and Shanxi Farmers' Painting Association. He began to create paintings in the early 1960s under the guidance of the founders of Huxian farmers' paintings, Ding Jitang and Liu Qunhan. His paintings were shown in Japan, the United States, Canada, Australia, in Great Britain, France, Sweden and other countries with a world tour of an exhibition of Huxian Farmers' Paintings.

According to Helen Merritt and Nanako Yamada, Chikuha Odake studied nanga painting from the age of four. Later he learned Maruyama-Shijo painting in Tokyo with Kobori Tomoto and Kajita Hanko. The artist received admission to the official, juried Bunten exhibitions, where he even won several prizes. Chikuha Odake designed kuchi-e for 'Bungei kurabu', a literary magazine.
