Akiyo Yamada was active in the sosaku hanga movement - mainly shortly after world war II. Since 1952 he was an associate member of the artist association Nihon Hanga Kyokai.

An Bin graduated from Chinese Academy of Fine Arts (CNAFA) in 1984 where he had studied painting and printmaking. After his graduation he remained at the CNAFA in different teaching positions. In 1997/1998 he spent 6 months at Ulster University in Belfast as an exchange professor. An Bin exhibits regularly at the great National Chinese Print and Art exhibitions. His works have been shown abroad in New York and in Taiwan and in numerous solo and group exhibitions in China.

An Yumin, a male printmaker, was born in Mongolia in 1964. He works as a printmaker and as an illustrator for publishing companies. An Yumin's prints are kept in black and white and are usually huge. The young artist has received several prizes and awards in national Chinese art exhibitions since 2002. An Yumin is member of the Mongolia Artists Association (Autonomous region of Inner Mongolia).

Asaji Kobayashi graduated in 1921 from Kanazawa Medical School. In the 1920s and 1930s he joined and exhibited with sosaku hanga groups while practicing as an eye doctor. The artist committed suicide in 1939.

Ashiyuki Gigado was a printmaker of the Osaka school and a prolific producer of Kabuki prints. As a member of the Osaka School he introduced some new techniques in Osaka prints. One of the new techniques he probably was the first to use, was the application of gofun, a white powder.

Toyokazu Kono was born into a family of painters. His grandfather had been Bairei Kono, his father Seiko Kono. In 1931 he graduated from the Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts and 3 years later from the Kyoto Municipal College of Painting. Toyokazu Kono was accepted for the official art exhibitions of Teiten and Nitten. After world war II the artist joined the Shinchosa group of artists and received a post as an art instructor at Sagano Senior Highschool in Kyoto. In 1963 he represented Japan at the International Society for Education through Art held in Montreal, Canada.

Bairei Kono, 1844-1895, was born and active in Kyoto, the old imperial town. He studied Japanese style painting with Nakajima Raisho and Shiokawa Bunrin. In 1881 he opened his own art school. Takeuchi Seiho became one of his students. The emphasis of Bairei Kono's art work was on kacho-e, images of birds and flowers. In 1893 he was honored by becoming a member of the Art Committee of the Imperial Household.
