Description From the historical novel, "Taiheiki", the Battle of Kasagi Castle in Yamashiro (1331). Emperor Godaigo's strong hold at Kasagi castle. Honshobo (right sheet: top) throws huge rocks at the incoming Kamakura Shogunate army.
Signature Ichijusai Yoshikazu.
Seal Kiri.
Dated 1853.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Very good.
Colors Very good.
Condition Very good ... the middle and the left sheets pasted together, backed by thin album papers, trimmed, lightly soiled. Left and Middle Sheets: worm track (1/3 inch long) at the top of the side edges. Right Sheet: worm track (1/2 inch long) at the upper right next to the title cartouche, a pin size worm hole on the upper left on top of the blue right hand.
