| Description |
"Ten Views of Silk Road" This print series was a part of woodblock print project titled "One Hundred Views of Eternal China". The series was created between 1980 and 1986 as the result of an official Sino-Japanese project with the goal to enhance friendship and cooperation between China and Japan. For details of this ground breaking project, please read the related article. In this print, the silk traders during the long journy might have seen the Buddha's image at Mai-ji Grottos(Bakuseki in Japanese). The Silk Road was also the route of Buddhism spreading from India to China. |
