Artist Lilian May Miller 1895-1943
Description "Morning Snow on Bamboo - B". Lilian Miller studied Japanese painting under Shimada Bokusen. She was one of the handful non-Japanese painters who was honored by Imperial Salon (Teiten) of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts. She won an award of Special Merit (Tokusenjo), as one of five artists so honored in a competition of 500 participants in 1920.
Signature "Lilian Miller" hand signed in pen on the bottom left, "Lilian Miller" stamped on the lower margin.
Dated 1928.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Excellent ... (carved and printed by the artist).
Colors Excellent ... solid silver mica on the background.
Condition Excellent - very good ... light paper toning.
