Description From the series, "Shin Nigao" (New Portraits). Actor Kataoka Nizaemon is in the role of Gonpachi --- "Shin Nigao" was a short-lived magazine series started in 1915 for 5 issues. Several artists contributed to one or two prints for the series which showcased more individual approaches to the traditional actor's portraits.
Signature "Hakutei hitsu" carved on the block, "Ishii Hakutei ga" printed on the presentation paper.
Dated 1915.
Impression Excellent - very good.
Colors Excellent - very good.
Condition Excellent - very good ... slight toning; top edge pasted on the original presentation paper on which names of the artist, the actor and the role were printed; ink specks on the lower margin.
