Description Semi Tori". A little boy came back from his cicada hunting trip in the woods. It was the late summer. The air was hot and filled with the noisy chorus of cicadas. His mother had been busy drying the newly dyed cloth on boards and seemed not noticing he came back. Akio ONDA was one of the best students of Shiko MUNAKATA. He worked as the assistant of Munakata while Munakata taught woodblock printing at Musashino Art Collage.
Signature Signed and titled by artist in black pencil.

Dated Ca. middle 20th century.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Self-carved and self-printed on a very thin, translucent Japanese "kozo" paper.
Colors Black and white.
Condition Very good ... Slight ink smudge. Naturally irregular edges and wrinkles usual for this type of paper. Several printer's creases. The left edge folded to the back. Paper mounting strips on the four margin corners.
