Title	A Short Night
Artist	Akio Onda born 1924
Description	Short poem, "Haiku", by Buson YOSA (1716-1783). It means something like, "The short summer night, I got an announcement by dream unexpectedly." Akio ONDA was one of the best students of Shiko MUNAKATA. He worked as the assistant of Munakata while Munakata taught woodblock printing at Musashino Art Collage.
Signature	"Onda Akio" and title in pencil on the lower margin.
Seal	Artist's red seal (Aki).
Dated	Middle 20th century.
Medium/Technique	Woodblock print.
Impression	Excellent - very good ... self-carved and self-printed on a very thin, translucent Japanese paper (kozo).
Colors	Black and white.
Condition	Very good ... naturally irregular edges and wrinkles usual for this type of paper, mounting residues on the upper and lower edges.
