Description	A cat is happily sleeping in a well maintained Japanese garden with a stone lantern and ancient tree. --- Chiura Obata's , a well known American artist with Japanese origin, prints from the garden set is among the rarest of his works.
Signature	Chiura Obata.
Seal	Artist's seal.
Dated	Ca. 1940 - 50s.
Medium/Technique	Woodblock print.
Impression	Excellent - Very good ... The key-block printing in the upside-down direction was printed on the print, presumably by mistake.
Colors	Excellent - Very good.
Condition	Very good ... Slight foxing, slight soils on the margins.
Note	Uchida Han is an important Japanese publishing company with branches in both Tokyo and Kyoto. Founded in 1919, the company is still in existence today as an active publisher of shin-hanga in addition to publishing re-strikes of Edo period ukiyo-e prints.
