Description "Ryoan-ji Sekitei - H". Stone Garden of Ryoan Temple which has been considered as one of the finest in Japan. The curious rock formations and the neatly raked white pebbles represent the abstract Zen universe.
Physicist, writer Dr. Bean Porter remarked about the garden, "... I have found the rock garden of Ryoan-ji to be the best that I have ever seen. The garden dates back five hundred years and is a beautiful poem; a fine statue; a deep philosophy; a wonderful picture; a magnificent architecture; a lovely music and a profound religion".
Signature Masao Maeda hand signed in white on the bottom left.

Condition Very good ... slight creases on the right area, several slight colored foxing on the light colored area and on the margins, mounting residues around the edges on verso.
