Description	An original preparatory watercolor painting on silk. It was made for the trial proof before the first commercial edition. It has been kept in the famous publisher in Kyoto, The Uchida, archives. An exceptional and rare item for the serious Japanese woodblock print collector.
Dated	Ca. 1930 - 50s.
Publisher	Uchida.
Medium/Technique	Watercolors and sumi on silk.
Impression	Watercolor on silk.
Colors	Excellent.
Condition	Very good ... Mounting residues on the right corners on verso.
Note	Uchida Han is an important Japanese publishing company with branches in both Tokyo and Kyoto. Founded in 1919, the company is still in existence today as an active publisher of shin-hanga in addition to publishing re-strikes of Edo period ukiyo-e prints.
