Description A sheet from the folding album "Momo Chidori Kyoka Awase" ("Myriad Birds Compared in Humorous Verse"), playful Kyoka poems matched with different birds. This print depicts "U" (cormorant) and "sagi" (heron).
Signature Artist's name is not on the print but it is known as Utamaro.
Dated Originally ca. 1790, this is a re-carved edition in ca.1970's.
Publisher Re-carved edition was published by Yuyudo.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Very good ... Re-carved. White herons plumage embossed.
Colors Excellent - very good.
Condition Excellent - very good ... Lightly wavy. Minor wrinkles on the margins. Verso on top mounting residues.
Note Carver Maeda Kentaro, printer Ito Taro.
