Title	Cormorant and Herons
Artist	Utamaro Kitagawa 1750-1806
Description	A sheet from the folding album, "Momo Chidori Kyoka Awase" (Myriad Birds Compared in Humorous Verse) playful kyoka poems matched with different birds. This print depicts "U" (cormorant) and "sagi" (heron).
Signature	Artist's name is not on the print but it is known as Utamaro.
Dated	Originally ca. 1790, this is a re-carved edition in ca.1970s.
Publisher	Re-carved edition was published by Yuyudo.
Medium/Technique	Woodblock print.
Impression	Very good ... (re-carved) white herons plumage embossed.
Colors	Excellent.
Condition	Excellent - very good ...red ink smudge on the right margin.
Format	Oban yoko-e
Width Item	15.9 inches = 40.5 cm
Height Item	10.6 inches = 27.0 cm
