Description "Les Perles Mandchoukuo" (The Pearls. Manchuria). This print is considered as the technical masterpiece of Japanese woodblock printing. More than 300 individual impressions from nearly sixty blocks, both sides carved, were used for creating this exquisite design. It was dedicated to Queen Juliana of the Netherlands as a part of a gift set.
Signature Paul Jacoulet in pencil.
Seal Peach seal.
Dated 1950.
Publisher Self published.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Excellent ... printed on "Jacoulet" in Japanese and his initials watermarked paper.
Colors Excellent - very good ... gold and silver colored metallic pigments.
Condition Excellent - very good ... light toning, two pin size holes on the left margin, light toning line along the top of the image on the upper margin.

Numbered 142 / 350
Note Carver Maeda Kentaro and Printer Honda Tetsunosuke stamped on the right margin. The edition number stamped on the reverse side.
