Description "Chikuto Kacho Gafu" (Pictures of Birds and Flowers by Chikuto) 2 volumes in one. Very nicely illustrated birds and flowers on 20 double pages. This album (more correctly Chikuto Shikunshi gafu) was printed for the first time in the Meiji period by Unsodo but the date was not known.
Signature "Nakabayashi Chikuto" printed on the front page.
Seal Artist's seals.
Dated Original paintings in Edo era. This album was printed in Meiji.
Publisher Unsodo.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Excellent ... printed on thick soft Japanese papers in accordion format album, lightly embossed.
Colors Excellent.
Condition Excellent - very good.
Note Chikuto was a Nanga painter and educator who was well known for his illustrated books of kacho-ga and tranquil landscapes.
