Artist Unichi Hiratsuka 1895-1997
Description "Gajo". (New Year's Greeting Card) for the New Year's Day in 1929. A bird and "Ume" (Japanese apricot) flowers. This was printed by "Koguchi Moku-han" (wood engraving) technique which Unichi experimented briefly.
Signature UN.
Dated 1929.
Publisher Shosendo.
Medium/Technique Wood engraving.
Impression Excellent ... (printed on a very thin translucent Japanese paper).
Colors Black, and white.
Condition Very good ... light paper toning, creased, several specks, long diagonal creases on the left.
