Description From the series, "Satomi Hakken Shi Buyuden" (Story of the Eight Dog Heroes of Satomi). The eight heroes in this imaginative revenge story by Takizawa Bakin have "inu" (dog) as part of their names. Therefore, they are called "Hakken-shi" (Eight Dog Heroes). Kabuki actors, Ootani Tomomatsu (left) plays Inuta Kobungo and Jitsukawa Enjaku is in the role of Inuzuka Shino.
Signature Hironobu x 2.
Dated 1863.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Excellent - very good.
Colors Excellent - very good ... gold colored metallic pigment partially oxidized.
Condition Excellent - very good ... slightly soiled, panels pasted together, album backing, two panels out of the eight-panels series.
