Description From the series "Inland Sea, first series", "Night".
Because his famous "Sailing Boats" series from Watanabe had lost by the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923, Hiroshi Yoshida made this bigger versions in 6 different lighting conditions.
Four in which were entered in prestigeous "Teiten" (Official Japanese Art Exhibition. It was renamed as "Nitten" after W.W.II.) and drew critical acclaims.
Signature "Yoshida" on the plate. "Hiroshi Yoshida" stamped on the bottom margin.
Seal Artist's seal.
Dated 1926.
Publisher Self-published by artist.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Excellent - very good ... Posthumous printing. Lightly embossed.
Colors Excellent - very good ... Fine gradation.
Condition Very good ... uneven light foxing on the margins.
Note "Toku" (Special) seal on the left margin.
