Description "Uki Aki" (Melanchoric Autumn) Vol.5, No.16. Frontispiece illustration from the popular literary magazine, Bungei Kurabu, which was aimed at largely female readers in Meiji - Taisho era. Here, a mother is trying to give an advise to her daughter.
Signature Mosai.
Seal Artist's seal (Eisen).
Dated 1900- 1910s.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Very good.
Colors Very good ... shomen-zuri patterns on the hair, lacquer burnishing.
Condition Very good ... Two vertical folds usual for kuchi-e, smudges on the right side, three worm holes on the girl's hair, the upper left corner creased, not backed.
